In the 1930s, obscure silent filmmaker Victor Shuler ended a failed career in motion pictures by incinerating his films on his front lawn, never to speak of it again. Eighty years later, his great, great grandson turns the lens backwards in time to uproot the mysterious past of his patriarch who was crushed by the collapse of the silent film world.
